Welcome to Vancouver!

I had high hopes for this plane.

I also believed that since this is the first time I've been more west than Ontario (for real!), the city would greet me with a warm, west coast-esque hello.

I was wrong.

It was more like being grabbed by the ankles and getting shaken violently upside down until you lose any sense of orientation. My seat mates were white-knuckling their chairs. The pilot came on mid-flight to apologize and said he would try to drop to a lower altitude to get out of the worst of it. I'm not sure he was successful. He issued a second apology when the flight ended and the woozy/terrified passengers trudged off.

Really, the first sign of trouble should have been when I got to my seat, a woman handed me a piece of the plane and said "this was on your chair". When pieces of the cabin are falling off before takeoff, having faith in the aircraft is challenging.

Boarding the big plane in an hour so until then, I'll be hay daying, wandering the airport and restocking the depleted candy stash.
