Okay, so I'm here in Sydney weather history. I'm pretending this is a good thing.
Or at least using it as an excuse to hit multiple bakeries in the same day to, you know, stay out of the rain. And you can't sit in a cafe without having a treat so... bring on the yummy.
But first, I geared up with an XL helmet for a bike tour of the city. Truly one of the highlights of the trip so far. We covered about 20km of the key Sydney sights. I had managed to see a lot of them on my own already but having a fun guide and being on a bike made it a unique way to see the city.
Most people cancelled coming on the tour from the weather, so there were only three of us plus the guide. It felt like biking with friends - and included a stop at the oldest pub (and brewery) in town.
In case you're wondering where Nicole Kidman used to live, the answer, below!
Where you seen the green shrub, that was her top floor place that she sold for $13M a few years ago. It's now worth $30M. Not a bad investment for anyone who's interested...
So the tour was great but I was confident I was going on the standard two-hour tour. What was supposed to be a morning event took four and a half hours. If you know one thing about me, it's that I need to eat constantly. I was so starving when it ended I practically ran to the lunch spot I picked out previously, inhaled a sandwich, and then hit the bakery for an apple turnover the size of my two hands put together.
And then oops! A massive downpour! Can't go out in that... So I'm eating a massive, sub-par salted chocolate chip cookie to wait it out. It's so giant they bring it out on a cutting board. My fingers still had pastry crumbs on them when I was ordering a second dessert.
It was all that vigorous biking. Must refuel!
AHHHHHHHHH I SEE A HINT OF BLUE SKY, must go!!! Now! With the cookie.
